What is Web 2.0?

Back in 2004, O’Reilly Media – an American Media Company, established by Tim O’Reilly, who publish books and websites on computer technology - coined a phrase ‘web 2.0’.

According to Tim O’Reilly: "Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform. Chief among those rules is this: Build applications that harness network effects to get better the more people use them. (This is what I've elsewhere called 'harnessing collective intelligence.')"

So, ‘if you build it they will come’? I don’t think so somehow.

Changes happen, whether you’re ready or not. We’ve heard much ‘scaremongering’ amongst the internet marketing community, of late. Tall tales of businesses going under, without the use of web 2.0.

Or are they just tall tales? One thing I know for certain is this; if you jump on every new big thing to hit internet marketing community ‘headlines’, you’re on to a sure loser. Why? Because FOCUS is always the key. Sure, you need some knowledge of new trends, to allow you to incorporate them into your business, but switching your business model at the drop of a hat will not make your dreams come true.

Plan and implement new strategies and technologies, make them work for you and not the other way round.

Henry Gold has written a brand new ‘secret’ report on the dangers and pitfalls of web 2.0, how to avoid them and how to survive – I highly recommend you read every word…
